Wow.......January is just about shot!!! One more full week and the first month of 2009 is history.
Today.......it's very cold again. I think it was zero when Am got up. I'm soooo sick of cold temps. Especially when it was in the 50's on Thursday!!!!! Boyyyyyy! I have a pot of veggie soup going this morning - well...not quite...I still need to peel & chunk up some taters then it's ready to go. I am trying to convince the Mr that we need to go to Qcy today to look at the Eagles!!!!! Nothing else to do - might as well. He isn't working AGAIN next week and it isn't looking good for the entire month of February. I have talked to several of our production workers the past few days (as I haven't worked since Wednesday---not MY choice) and they were told on Thursday not to come back until March 2nd now. *I'm shaking my head as I write. Missouri unemployment is currently running 6-8 weeks for individuals to receive their first benefet payment. Holy crap. That is how overwhelming it is.....and I'm sure other states are in the same way. Too bad they can't speed up the process................especially for the people with several kids who live check to check. Anyhow....between him not working and crappy weather, he is just about to the "going postal" phase. I seriously think he was going to on Wednesday. He actually came to work to "discuss things" with Mitch--------thank God (for MY sake) that Mitch had already left!!!!!! With us both being home more often....I can tell you that the honeymoon is over and there's too much time in the house together!!! LOL Isn't that terrible!!!!???????
Well........I suppose I need to get back to the kitchen and work up those potatoes. Hey mom, I can't remember or find my password for the music listing......so that's why there's no music on here anymore. I plan to get that resolved this weekend!!! lol
Have a good one

The New President of our United States
I have been home all day today......taking in every moment of the inauguration of our new President, Barack Obama!!!!!!!!!!!! The 44th President of our country. His acceptance speech was total "eloquance" as Tom Brokaw (Or David Gregory) said.
I know some of you do not agree........but that is ok. That is what makes this country great - that we all have THE RIGHT to FREEDOM OF SPEECH and freedom to vote! I am proud to admit that yes....I voted for Mr. Obama. I have faith and confidence that he can and will turn our country around and headed into the right direction. Yes, it will take a long time and possibly longer than his term(s) but he can get it started. We are and always will be One Nation...UNDER GOD.....
Nothing new to report......it's warming up sloowwwwly and spring is right around the corner. I certainly hope - because I'm wanting to get a pedicure really bad...but too cold to wear flip flops to show it off LOL
Guy the calf is soon going to be hauled to market. Ambrose hasn't been able to get ahold of the hauler yet....so we'll see. I'm not sure where we are going to put all the meat!!!!!! I can't wait to sink my teeth into some FRESH BEEF........mmmmmmmmmmm
Have a good one!!!

Happy Birthday, Mr
Today the Mr turns 46!!!!!!!!!!!!!! To him...it's just another day of the week! To me, one's birthday is a big deal!!!!!!! We had the same thing that we have every January 6th for supper. My infamous sketti........the best this side of the river LOL And for dessert....the once a year boston cream pie!!!! (it's really cake....and why IS it called pie when it's cake???) He opened his presents when I got home this evening. This years "theme" was the golf theme. He got covers for all of his clubs!! They match his new golf bag. He also got a nice St. Louis Cardinals golf glove!! He really liked that. Along with those things was a pair of water proof gloves (for chores) and a $40 gift card to Orschelin's Farm & Home!!! He was happy. I had intended on getting him a gift certificate to the Legion Golf Course in Hannibal where he likes to go....but of course, they are closed for the winter ---- so....so much for THAT idea. It was a good thought though!!!
Reading his "goofy" card and checking out the Farm Store gift card

Impressed with the new golf glove.....he said it was expensive by the brand! (if he only knew!!!!!!Well.....he obviously did)
Just like Michael Jackson....hahah just kidding. It fits.
Displaying some of the loot

Slacker..........
Yep....that's me......slacker. I haven't posted since Christmas Eve.
Well...to sum it up in one sentance: Survived Christmas & New Years and work still sucks!!
Can't get much more plain that that, ey?
Tomorrow is the Mr's birthday. He will be 46. I'm going to make him his annual Boston Cream Pie.......his favorite. Yep - it's all low cal. I'm using a low sugar cake mix & icing and sugar free pudding so it'll be better than the others. And of course, my infamous sketti for supper tomorrow night also.
