This is "Tom"

Well....this is "Tom". Tom is the kitten that I was going to keep - until I saved Chancie's life... lol... then I end up not picking either one!! Well... anyhow, I brought Tom in the other day......has become a real nice QUIET cat!!! Unlike the acted out ways outside when the litter was very very small. Well guess what? TOM is not a tom!!!!!!!!!!!!! Not sure why I never noticed this before....but its not a boy - umm for OBVIOUS reasons! LOL LOL LOL

SO....add one more girl to the pack. Geeeez.... Remember a few posts back when I mentioned Gracie likes to go for the neck on any cat I bring in? I'm telling you she's mean!!!! I think she'd go for my neck if she could - she goes for my nose, cheek and chin on a daily basis - the little twit. Welllll.....here is Tom and Gracie on the freezer. I put Tom down and she was up there on on that cat before I could smack her down. Can't really see her going for the neck here but you can see she's on top! Tom finally had enough and started to growl and then they kinda started to fight a little so I put her out. Oh, and yes, I'm still going to call HER Tom!!!!

Let's see....what else.......Oh......well... every day, when I take a shower, this is where Gracie is during that time and for about 2 minutes after I get out. I have to laugh. Nala used to wait for me on the toilet lid but Gracie waits here between the shower curtain and the liner!!! Also....here is Chancie..... I can't remember if I posted this already or not. Notice, again, who's on top!!!! She's so dominent!

Well...... last Saturday, we went to the Mizzou/Texas Tech game. That was Am's anniversary gift, remember!?? Beautiful day - it was about 80* and not a cloud in the sky!! Our seats were only 19 rows off the field so we had great seating!! And it was a really good game too! It was homecoming. We didn't go to the parade-it was downtown before we got to Columbia. But we had a good time. We met up with Am's brother, Bill and his crew. Here we all are before the game. After the game we went to the University hospital to visit our friend Bernard. Please keep him and his family in your prayers. He was just diagnosed 3 1/2 weeks ago with late stage cancer. He was sent home this week to spend time with his family. (there is nothing they can do - it is all over him...liver, lungs and bones....)

Well....hmmmm what else am I leaving out? Nothing that I can think of.......Pretty hum drum out here on Ponderosa Trail!!! The game has been the most excitement we've seen in awhile! LOL

So on that note, I guess I'll go. It's almost 6:30 and I need to do a few bowls that are (still) in the sink from last night and figure out what on earth I'm going to wear..............uggghhhhh

Have a good day!!!
p.s. Did any of you happen to catch the international space station AND the space shuttle discovery go overhead last night from 6:43 - 6:48??? I should have posted it but I didn't. Anyhow, I managed to catch it after giving up! THANKS RANDY - for calling me...... I'm sure that the people in town wondered what the h*ll I was doing by stopping in the street and getting out of my car looking up at the sky and on my cell phone!! LOL Anyhow, thanks for calling me to watch it with me!! :)

We grilled kc strips for supper tonight and had cheesy hashbrown casserole and green beans. I also just took dessert out of the oven - that would be "HIS MOMMA'S APPLE CRISP RECIPE"...it kind of incorporates her into the celebration (since both his folks are gone :( Anyhow - it's been a nice day and evening. SO with that....I will close and let you look at the pics (if you want) and I'm going to go dish up my dessert while its still hot...oh, and can't leave off the VANILLA ICE CREAM!!!! Canines for a Cure

Today was the 2nd annual "Canines for a Cure" walk in MC. What is that you ask?
Well...it's a benefit walk that serves 2 purposes. It's a "dog walk" (if you wish to bring your dog) for the P.A.W.S. group (Providing Animals With Shelter) and also it is for Cancer - namely breast cancer awareness - therefore "canines" and "cure". There were over 60 participants this year and last year there was 40....and although not everyone brought dogs to walk, there WERE several. Rudy and I went. Am helped load him in.....as he (Rudy, not Am) usually throws himself down on the ground, writhering when I try to put him in the car - but when Am is involved, he jumps right in!!!!! He even came to town to help get him in to go home but I don't think it would have been a problem this time.......he put his feet on the door before we got the door open so I'd day he was ready to go home!! It was HOT.....last year, it was overcast and almost chilly!!! NOT TODAY!!! Indian summer is here for a few days! The walk is pretty easy route - its' only 1 mile. I say "only"; to some that might seem like 10 miles, but to me it's nothing! It's 1.1 miles one way to the highway on MY walk! lol My friend, Diane, walked with me. We got a free bottle of water since we were "registered" to walk.
That was nice - After the walk, I took Rudy to the water they had for the dogs but he REFUSED to drink!!! I guess if you think about it.....drinking after "strangers" with all THEIR slobbers, wouldn't be too appealing to you either! LOL THAT is why I brought our own!! Am put some water in a thermos and I brought it and an empty ice cream pail (not like there are hundreds of those around this house) and he STILL refused to drink. Not sure why he was that way, but he was. We stood around listening to the raffle winners and the drawing winners but they never ever did say Heidi or Rudy Hays :( Ohhh welll I guess. While standing (for me..Rudy layed) under the edge of the little tent where the bake sale and soda was being sold (the only shade, mind you) - I "caught" these 2 dogs!!
The lady was purchasing her soda, and her 2 greyhounds decided to get into the tub of soda themselves........I found it extremely hilarious!!!!
Am thought her dogs were UGLY - but I found them very pretty and soooo soft. Greyhounds always appear to have real course hair but it isn't. They seemed like such sweet dogs - easy going and almost "sad" like.
As I mentioned, it seemed like Rudy was ready to go home. I'd say he was HOT and just wanted to get home and drink his OWN water! lol He wouldn't move over to sit on his side - which had the cover - so here he is!!!
What is even funnier, he completely refused to get OUT of the car when we got home. We are pretty sure that we know why....I had the a/c cranking in the car on the way home and I had most of it blowing on the dog. We figure he was nice and cool and didn't want to get out of it!! Funny!
